Scope & Topics

The 5th IFAC Conference on Nonlinear Model Predictive Control 2015 is the 5th meeting on the assessment and future directions of model predictive control (MPC) since 1998. The first conference on this topic was organized in Ascona, Switzerland, 1998; followed by the conferences in Freudenstadt-Lauterbad, Germany, 2005; Pavia, Italy, 2008 and the conference in Noordwijkerhout, the Netherlands, 2012.

The IFAC Conference on Nonlinear Model Predictive Control 2015 aims at bringing together researchers in the area of MPC, from both academia and industry, in order to establish the current state-of-the-art and focus the future development of the MPC field towards relevant directions.

The topics that will be covered during this conference include:

  • stability and recursive feasibility of nonlinear model predictive control
  • robust model predictive control
  • sub-optimal model predictive control
  • stochastic model predictive control
  • hybrid model predictive control
  • explicit model predictive control
  • distributed model predictive control
  • dedicated hardware implementation of model predictive control
  • dedicated optimization solvers for model predictive control
  • real-time model predictive control

Furthermore, practical applications of nonlinear model predictive control will also be considered including:

  • automotive
  • aerospace
  • power electronics
  • broadband communications
  • electrical power systems
  • healthcare applications
  • process control
  • motion control
  • energy efficient buildings
  • greenhouse control
  • scheduling and manufacturing
  • industrial printers
  • plasma control
  • fluid dynamics
  • cyber-physical systems
  • systems biology
  • financial economy

Submissions concerning other, relevant topics to model predictive control theory and related applications are also welcomed.
